Auster Loo Collective brings a breath of fresh air to the acoustic and improvised music scene in Belgium. Bringing together top-notch Belgian musicians, they have to their collaborated with musicians such as Jordi Savall, Damon Albarn, Zap Mama, Deep Forest, Ibrahim Maalouf and Ross Daly.
Within the collective, the musicians put their backgrounds at the service of a new musical language. Under the artistic direction of Simon Leleux, they go in search of unexplored horizons.
A singular universe emerges, the result of a unique alchemy between uprooting and anchoring. Powerful and dreamlike melodies alternate with rhythmic compositions and sustained energy. Each musician nourishs the repertoire with his skilful playing, giving an original sound where the particular subtlety of the koto intertwines with the playful melodies of the West African kora, the piano and the double bass, the flute and the Iranian setar, the percussions and the voices.
