Fictional tribe music

Trance Plantations is the new brainchild of Nathan Daems and Falk Schrauwen (Black Flower, Echoes of Zoo, Sylvie Kreusch…). A half acoustic, half electronic duo invoking mysticism, speaking many dialects from the not-so-conservative tribes of the universe who search for trance in various sonic ways. This gets translated with the use of a whole bunch of classic and experimental instruments. Going from very ancient to newly made experimental instruments, all connected to meticulously adapted electronics.

On their first LP – the eponymous Trance Plantations – they immerse the listener in five different dream worlds. As a bonus, they teamed up with BetaMax & Danalogue – known from the British trio around Shabaka Hutching’s The Comet is Coming – for an epic dancefloor proof remix.

Nathan Daems

Nathan Daems is a Brussels based musician who is proficient in the nuances of jazz and has knowledge and experience in several “oriental” genres. He is driven by the longing to dive into the emotional depth of Balkan music, middle eastern & Indian music. Today he excels in combining esoteric oriental vocabulary & melancholy with the improvisational earthbound power of afro grooves and jazz.

Falk Schrauwen

Falk Schrauwen is a young Brussels percussionist. This urban melting pot proved to provide a solid foundation for his understanding of diverse musical traditions.Falk plays in various projects including Sylvie Kreusch, Echoes of Zoo, Compro Oro.
